Kaolin Festival: The festival is always held on the second weekend in October, and has been around since 1956. The festival includes a parade, arts and crafts vendors, food, mine tours, a children's area, class reunions, and entertainment. The festival has continued to grow through the years and even though the festival is only one weekend, festivities begin as early as the first weekend in September and run until the end of October. The Kaolin Festival is something that residents look forward to all year long and is the epitome of tradition in Washington County.
